Almost There

Here's a couple of 'in progress' kitchen shots...

The tiling is all complete now (I ended up doing the laundry room too!) and it looks great.  The grout will be done this morning so by this afternoon I should have everything back to normal in the kitchen.  Can't wait to share the final results!  See you in a bit...

Spring Cleaning Time Out

I had planned to share with you some of my all-time favourtite cleaning products/tips etc. this week BUT instead I'm getting my backsplash installed!  I am so excited I can't stand it!!
My house (well my kitchen) will be a mess for the next day or two so I am moving the cleaning segments on to next week when they will help to remind me that it really isnt that bad!
What, you ask did I decide on doing?  Well, I am going with a classic white subway tile and grey grout.  It is not very adventurous (I know) but it really goes well with the kitchen and house in general.  I'm always thinking re-sale so this is truly my best bet.
Here's some before pics so you can get an idea...

Backsplash Quest

We've decided it's time to get a backsplash.  It's been nearly 2 years; we re-did the whole main floor including the kitchen but never got around to the backsplash. To be honest with you, we're kind of sick of looking at the food splattered wall behind the stove.
The kitchen is painted a grey-tinged white and the whole roon is flooded with light the majority of the day. It is my favourite room in the house.  Everything happens here.  It is my office, where we cook and eat, where we meet with friends and talk, where we do arts and crafts, where we dance and sing it is truly the heart of this home.  It just needs to be finished.

So now the big question is: what is the perfect backsplash for our little kitchen that could?  What do you think?  Any thoughts?  I'd love to hear!
