Jielde Task Lamps

Simply gorgeous...sturdy, articulated to adapt to all working situations and available in the most delicious colours imaginable!  What else could you want in your all important task lighting?

The Jielde lamp was designed in France in the 1950's by Jean-Louis Domecq in an attempt to find adequate lighting for his work.  The lamps are still produced in the same manner in Lyon, France and are worth every penny!  They are available in the original Loft, the Signal and the suspension Augustin.

Mine is from the loft collection (floor lamp) in the most perfect white.  Depending on the time of year (and how I'm feeling) it sits in different areas of the house.  Sometimes it's my bedside lamp while at other times it sits in our basement office.  Currently, it's lighting up the kid's playroom - needing to show off its beauty to guests (even if they are 4 year olds!)  I say you're never too young to be introduced to good design, right?

I'm pondering a couple of the suspension lamps for over our dining table...
